An Ocean in a Tear

I admit it: I hold grudges. Sometimes those grudges nag at me so often it really puts me in a bad mood. I get so worked up by those grudges that I fail to see beyond how they pertain to me.
How many other Christians are with me in this habit? Baxter suggests some serious ramifications for us:
Being able to pass a test in theology, or being wonderfully sound in doctrine, or being able to “speak in tongues”, or being able to work miracles of healing, is a poor compensation for lack of this forgiving love.
Now I am not suggesting that we deliberately go out to spread hate versus love, but we often don’t realize we are doing it. And even sins of ignorance require forgiveness.
So the next time someone cuts you off in traffic . . . the next time someone cuts in line . . . the next time someone talks during the previews of the movie . . . the next time (you get the point) . . . let’s forget about ourselves. Let’s not hold a grudge. Let’s let it go.
Today, my prayer for you and I is that we will allow Christ to melt our icy hearts through His example.
Bloggers Note: If you are following along, yes, I did go out of order today and yesterday. An honest mistake. Please forgive me (how pertinent is that?).
