Easter Wednesday: My Redeemer Liveth
April 11, 2007 at 7:00 am | In Easter | Leave a CommentI know that my Redeemer liveth. ~ Job 19:25
In today’s devotion, Baxter talks a lot about Job. But I am drawn to focus on something Baxter states near the end:
All over the world there are men and women good and true who are mercilessly thwarted and beaten back by ironic inequalities. All through the churches there are saints longing to do some big and noble thing for their Lord, yet they are dashed back panting and breathless, crushed and seemingly mocked, by wave after wave of frustrating circumstances. Is not this true of all of us in some way?
How angering and annoying this is! When it seems like the everything is pulling you away from Him, rest assured that “God accepts the will for the deed. Those who are thwarted now, shall be given full opportunity then!”
Today, my prayer for you and I is that we may know the transforming power in our hearts, our dispositions and our characters. May it bring us into refining fellowship with God.
