No Other Rock

Below is a screenshot of the June 27, 2007 WordPress Blogs of the Day for the Growing Blogs category. On that day, there was a tremendous spike in visits to NOR and it culminated in pushing NOR to the number 3 category for the day.

Very humbled (and extremely encouraged) to say the least.

Nothing fancy, just did it because I could.

You may have noticed a couple new things on the sidebar.

First, NoOtherRock has been nominated for best religion blog. I make no secret that it was me. I don’t particularly think it will win, nor was it the intent. I figured it would be another way to help get visibility for the blog and hopefully continue the mission. But if you want to vote for NOR . . .

Second, NoOtherRock now has a webring. It is called “Living Stones” in reference to

I Peter 2:5 – you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

We’ve reached the first month of devotions at No Other Rock. We have not had a lot of interaction. As a blogger, I’d love to see more comments of course.

At this point, I want to solicit your comments and suggestions. Please feel free to say whatever is on your mind.

One of my favorite bands in Seventh Day Slumber. If you haven’t checked out their stuff yet, I highly encourage you to do so. Very few musical acts can pack so much emotion and a genuine evangelical message into their music the way these guys can.

They have a new release (called Finally Awake) coming out in March. They’ve posted a short YouTube video that talks about the premise of the album.

I can honestly admit that I have not been this excited about an upcoming release in a really REALLY long time. I figured I would post it here because it seems like this album ties directly to the reason I started this blog (again, God’s timing is amazing!).
